Who it fits
Good fit for
This set suits garage owners who need heavy-duty storage for large tool collections. The high load capacities of 600 to 800 lbs make it ideal for storing power tools, automotive parts, and bulk supplies. The rolling drawer cabinet allows you to move frequently used items easily. Its fully lockable design and anti-tip casters provide security and safety. If you have a wide garage wall and require a robust, industrial-grade organization system, this configuration meets those needs effectively.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you require a compact footprint. The unit is 132 inches wide, which demands significant wall space. It also lacks integrated lighting or backsplash options in this specific variation, requiring you to add those separately. The fixed cabinets must be secured to the wall, which may not suit renters. Additionally, the 18-inch depth might be shallow for very large items. If you need plug-in lighting or a smaller size, this set is not the right fit.
Verdict: The NewAge Products Gray Bold Series 9PC offers robust, high-capacity steel storage for well-equipped garages. Its fully welded construction and heavy load limits make it a reliable choice for serious organization.
Key specs explained for you
24-gauge steel
This thickness indicates sturdy metal construction that resists denting better than thinner options. You get a rigid frame that holds its shape under heavy loads. This gauge is common in premium garage cabinets. It suggests durability for storing heavy tools without bowing. Compare this to 18-gauge steel for maximum strength or 26-gauge for lighter duty. The 24-gauge balance offers solid support for most garage storage needs.
4 in. anti-tip locking casters
These wheels allow you to move the rolling tool cabinet easily across your garage floor. The locking mechanism keeps the unit stable when you are working or storing items. Anti-tip design prevents the cabinet from tipping forward when drawers are open. This feature is essential for mobile workstations. Check that the casters are heavy-duty enough for your floor type. Locking casters ensure safety and prevent unwanted movement during use.
fully-lockable
Every cabinet and drawer in this set can be secured with a lock. This feature keeps your tools and valuables safe from unauthorized access. You do not need to buy separate locks for each unit. This is crucial for high-value power tools or sensitive equipment. Compare this to sets with only one lockable drawer. Full lockability provides comprehensive security for your entire garage storage system.
600 lbs (rolling tool cabinet)
This weight capacity tells you how much load the rolling cabinet can safely hold. You can store heavy power tools, hardware, and supplies without worrying about structural failure. This capacity is suitable for most professional-grade tool collections. Ensure you distribute weight evenly to maintain stability. Compare this to lower capacities if you store extremely heavy items. This limit helps you plan your storage layout effectively and safely.
Design and build details
The listing specifies 24-gauge steel construction for the entire set. This material choice provides a rigid frame that resists denting under heavy loads. The cabinets are fully welded, which adds structural integrity compared to bolted assemblies. You get a durable powder-coat finish that protects against scratches and rust. This finish is practical for garage environments where humidity or tools might cause wear.
The total footprint is 132 inches wide by 18 inches deep. The height varies slightly by configuration, with the listing noting 76.75 inches for some units and 77.3 inches for others. The entire set weighs 461 pounds. This mass ensures stability, but it also means you must secure fixed cabinets to the wall. Height-adjustable legs on fixed units help level the system on uneven garage floors.
Layout includes three wall cabinets, two lockers, two base cabinets, and a rolling tool drawer. The lockers feature a closet rod for hanging storage. The rolling cabinet uses 4-inch anti-tip locking casters, allowing you to move tools safely. All units are fully lockable. This design suits users who need secure, heavy-duty storage for large tool collections or equipment. The bamboo worktop adds a functional surface for projects.
Setup and everyday use guide
Setting up this storage system requires securing fixed units to a wall for safety. The listing notes that all fixed cabinets are designed for wall mounting. You must account for uneven floors, as the fixed cabinets feature height-adjustable legs. This feature allows you to level the units on imperfect garage surfaces before final installation. The set ships ready to install, which suggests the components arrive pre-assembled or with minimal assembly required. You do not need to weld or fabricate parts yourself.
Daily use focuses on organized storage and mobility. The set includes two 30-inch lockers. Each locker has a total weight capacity of 800 lbs. A closet rod is included inside these lockers, providing hanging storage for items like jackets or tools on hangers. The base cabinets and the rolling tool drawer cabinet each support 600 lbs. This capacity suits heavy power tools or bulk supplies.
The rolling tool cabinet moves on 4-inch anti-tip locking casters. You can safely reposition this unit to bring tools closer to your workspace. The locking mechanism on the casters keeps the cabinet stationary when needed. All cabinets are fully-lockable, allowing you to secure your belongings. The durable powder-coat finish protects the steel from scratches and rust during regular use. This setup provides a rigid, high-capacity storage solution for a garage environment.
Before you buy this garage set
This 9-piece system occupies 132 inches of wall space. You need a garage with sufficient linear length to accommodate the full width. The set includes a bamboo worktop, but you may want additional lighting or backsplash options if the current configuration does not meet your workflow needs. Check that your wall studs align with the mounting points for the fixed cabinets. The rolling tool cabinet requires clear floor space to maneuver its four-inch casters safely. Maintenance involves wiping down the powder-coat finish to prevent rust buildup. This unit fits alongside other heavy-duty garage cabinets in our 1 reviews. It suits buyers who prioritize rigid, fully-welded steel construction over modular flexibility. If you need compact storage or prefer plastic components, this steel set may be too large. Verify your floor is level before installing the height-adjustable legs. This system is best for permanent garage installations rather than temporary setups.
Check before you buy
- Measure your garage wall to ensure it fits 132 inches.
- Check that you have wall studs for secure mounting.
- Verify floor levelness for the adjustable legs.
- Confirm space for rolling cabinet movement.
